Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information MyWheelz collects through this website and our early-access waitlist, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
Draft for legal review. This document is a working draft prepared before launch. It has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer and will be updated before MyWheelz becomes publicly available. Last updated 4 November 2026.
1. Who we are
This website (mywheelz.in) is operated by [legal entity name], registered at [registered address] ("MyWheelz", "we", "us"). For the purposes of India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, we are the data fiduciary for the personal data described in this policy.
The MyWheelz app is not yet publicly available. This policy covers this website and the waitlist only. We will publish an updated policy covering the app before it launches.
2. Information we collect
When you join the waitlist
- Your name, email address and Indian mobile number.
- Your consent choices: whether you agreed to email updates (required to join) and whether you separately agreed to SMS or WhatsApp updates (optional), with the date, time and version of the wording you agreed to.
- A short label for where you signed up (for example, the button you used or a campaign link such as "utm_source=instagram").
When you visit the website
- Security checks. We use Cloudflare Turnstile to tell people apart from automated bots. It processes technical information such as your IP address and browser characteristics. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
- Abuse prevention. To limit repeated submissions, we keep a temporary, one-way hashed form of your IP address and email address for a short period. These hashes are not stored with your waitlist entry.
- Server logs. Our hosting provider, [hosting provider], records standard technical logs (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested) to operate and secure the website.
- Analytics. We do not currently use analytics or advertising cookies on this website. If that changes, we will update this policy and ask for your consent where required.
3. How we use your information
- To manage your place on the waitlist and avoid duplicate registrations.
- To send you MyWheelz launch updates and early-access communications by email, based on your consent.
- To contact you by SMS or WhatsApp only if you ticked the separate optional box.
- To keep the website and waitlist secure and prevent spam and abuse.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
4. The consent wording you agree to
Current version: 2026-11-04.v1.
- Email (required to join): "I agree to receive MyWheelz launch updates and early-access communications by email. I understand that I can withdraw my consent at any time."
- SMS/WhatsApp (optional): "Optional: I also agree to receive early-access updates by SMS or WhatsApp on the mobile number above."
5. Where your information is stored and who processes it
Waitlist registrations are stored in a Google Sheet in our Google Workspace account, accessible only to authorised MyWheelz team members and to the service account our website uses to add new registrations. Our service providers process information on our behalf:
- Google (spreadsheet storage)
- Cloudflare (bot protection)
- [hosting provider] (website hosting)
- [email/SMS provider, once chosen] (sending updates)
- [Upstash, if enabled] (temporary rate-limit data)
Some providers may process data outside India. [Legal review: describe cross-border transfers.]
6. How long we keep it
We keep your waitlist registration until you ask us to delete it, withdraw your consent, or [retention period, e.g. 12 months after public launch], whichever comes first. Temporary abuse-prevention hashes expire automatically within minutes to hours.
7. Your choices and rights
- Withdraw consent at any time, using the unsubscribe link in any email or by contacting us. Withdrawing one channel (for example, SMS) doesn't affect another unless you ask.
- Access, correct or delete your information.
- Raise a grievance with us, and if unresolved, with the Data Protection Board of India.
To make a request, contact us at [privacy contact email]. We may need to verify your identity before acting on it.
Grievance Officer: [name], [email].
8. Security
We use reasonable measures to protect your information, including restricting access to the waitlist to authorised people, keeping credentials out of our website code, and validating all submissions on our servers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.
9. Children
The waitlist is intended for people aged 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect information from children.
10. Changes to this policy
We'll update this page when our practices change, and tell waitlist members by email about significant changes. See also our Terms of Service.
